Eph 6:17b and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

John 6:63b the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Acts 12:24 But the word of God grew and multiplied.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2 Cor 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

2 Cor 10:4-6 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Th 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Rev 1:2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

No soldier is worth his salt who has no weapon with which to fight. The Christian soldier has been equipped with everything that he needs for combating the enemy and defending himself whenever he is attacked. The weapon that we have at our disposal is the Word of God. How precious this Bible is to us. To the amount that we stay away from its pages the more we live in sin, despair, and fear. The more we consult the wisdom and comfort of the words on its pages the more we enjoy the reality of the joyous Christian life. The Psalmist David said ,Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee (Psa 119:11).I can not impress upon you the great benefit of reading the Bible through from cover to cover. As we hide the Word in our hearts then we have it at hand as the sword is at hand to the earthly soldier. I am convinced that the Word of God has an answer to all of our needs. With the Holy Ghost as the One who reveals and interprets, we are enabled to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God then our faith is increased when we read the Word of God and the Holy Ghost applies its words to our situation in life. It is truly a sword to defeat all of the high imaginations of man . Armed with this sword we are able to meet and defeat any foe that might come against us. One other thing to notice, the Word of God is the Spirit’s sword, without the Spirit it is not a weapon that we can use. The Spirit must wield His sword for it to be effectual. Let us all be thankful for the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
