SALVATION by Elder Lin Brown Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation,Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.2 Cor 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.1 Th 5:8 & 9 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,2 Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:2 Tim 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.Heb 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;1 Pet 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. The helmet as part of the armour of God indicates that we are to have our head and therefore our mind guarded and protected with the reality of salvation. The salvation that is to be found in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alone is to be that which protects our mind from any doubts and fears. Jesus very words on two occasions demonstrated the ineffectual threat of man for the one who is saved - He said that we are not to fear the one who can kill the body but we are to fear the One who has power over both the soul and body (Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell) and He told Pilate that he could have no power over Him unless it was given (John 19:11 Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above:). When we think that we are alone and left to fight in our own strength or that we can act and behave in any way we please, let us remember that we have been saved at a very high cost. We believe in free grace but we never believe in cheap grace. The grace that brought salvation to us, came at a very high cost. The very precious blood of the One Who alone makes salvation real -our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is that which saves us from the fires of hell. Protect your minds with this great salvation that is found for the elect alone in the life, death, burial , resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ for there is no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved. The great confession of Jonah is our profession also, that Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.) This confession says that salvation from first to last is all the work of the Lord. The Father planned and purposed those who were to be saved , The Son died for them and them only and The Holy Spirit comes and regenerates those whom the Father chose and the Son died for and them and them only. SALVATION IS OF THE LORD! To Him be all the glory and praise.
