Regardless of what others may say or think you and I who are the children of God know that this war is not about some terrorists who hate the USA for political reasons. It goes far deeper than that. The goal of radical fundamental Islam is to destroy all infidels (that means especially Christians and Jews) and then set up an Islamic world government where Allah alone is recognized as the ruling God and anyone not believing in him is put to death immediately. Then all of the Koran would be enforced literally in all its parts, not totally unlike early Reconstructionist goals for Christianity. We who are the children of God must highly regard the words of our Lord when He said His kingdom was not of this world, if it were then His servants would fight, but since it was not of this world then His servants would not fight with worldly weapons. The apostle Paul tells us that we have weapons with which to fight, but they are not earthly weapons, but spiritual weapons. The goal of the radical fundamental Islamics is to overthrow Christianity and replace it with the worship of their god. I am glad that is their goal, were it just to overthrow the materialism of western culture I might despair of them being defeated, but since it is to overthrow the Living and True God and enthrone their god who is nothing more than a mental idol, I am confident that our God will win. You might say to me, why pastor are you completely ignorant of history, don’t you know that Islam has gone up against Christianity before and won? If you refer to the time period known as the Crusades, no I am not ignorant of those times, but Christianity then was as false as those that it opposed. It was two systems of Antichrist fighting each other. When so-called Christians fight in the flesh they will always manifest themselves for what they are, idolaters, who worship in blind disobedience a false god and not the True and Living God. Since now we know the goal of the enemy we find it much easier to wage war against him, no, not war with guns, tanks, men, missiles, and bombs, but the most powerful weapon of all - faith exercised through prayer prayed in the Name of Jesus Christ .Let us pray and pray, indeed pray without ceasing against this declared enemy of He Who is King of kings and Lord of lords. The minute we stop praying we have surrendered ground to the enemy.
