GRACE by Elder Lin Brown Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Acts 15:11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.Acts 18:27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:Acts 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:Rom 5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.Rom 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.1 Cor 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.2 Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:Eph 1:6&7 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:2 Th 2:16&17 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.2 Tim 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,Titus 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.James 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.2 Pet 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. AmenGrace is the crown of all of the attributes of God. Without grace there is no faith, repentance, forgiveness, redemption, indeed no salvation. Grace drew salvation’s plan and grace brought it down to the elect. Grace worked the election of the Father and the atonement of the Son and the regeneration of the Holy Spirit. Grace sought Jonah in the belly of the fish in the depths of the ocean and opened Jonah’s mouth to cry out from those depths, "Salvation is of the Lord". Grace knocked Paul from his horse as he traveled to arrest the people of God in Damascus and arrested him for the service of the Living God. Grace opened the heart of Lydia beside the river and she gave attention to the words Paul was speaking. Grace went to the depths of depravity and saved a wretch like me. When we sing Amazing Grace or the words, wonderful, matchless grace let us truly reflect that we to whom the truth of grace has been revealed really do know what those words mean. You see most people singing Amazing Grace today don’t have a clue as to what they are singing about. In fact most people today don’t have a clue what they are talking or preaching about when they speak about grace. Grace has been defined as the unmerited favor of God and as undeserved favor of God and it is, but grace does not find us just as poor and needy, it finds us as hostile and violent. It finds us as robbers who would steal the glory of God and as murderers who would kill God if we could. Let us all realize with the apostle Paul that we are what we are by the grace of God. We could have been born in one of the countries now steeped in poverty and the destruction of war or worse yet we could be devotees to one of the world’s great religions of darkness. We could be enslaved in the powers of darkness and given over to the belief of a lie and be the objects of the eternal wrath of the Almighty God. Let me say if there is anything that we can do to gain favor with God on our own, then there is no salvation by grace. Grace + anything, is not grace. Grace is sovereign or it is not grace, so let the dead religionist have what they will, as for me I pray the Lord will always allow me to stand in the truth of His Sovereign Grace.
