Adam and Eve by Elder Tim Brown
When we hear the terminology we are only human, we should take great offense. A child of God and Child of Reprobation are 2 different beings, yet one has a likeness of the other. A child of God is not just human. They have a part that is human and another that is spirit. It starts from creation from the very beginning understanding the genealogy of believers and nonbelievers. To say we are of Adam only is a great deception. From the very beginning when the human race was divided into male and female reveals that God had separated a people for His own. Adam was created in the image of God (Gen. 1:26). Eve was soon brought out of this man in his likeness but oh so much different because of sovereign election.. Here we do not have one race together, we have two. Adam was always from the beginning a non-elect a goat, as supported by the scripture that all are dead in Adam, and Eve (the mother of the living) from the beginning an elect a sheep. Adam was given the likeness of Holiness in the beginning, for he was made without sin. He was given a living soul. He was given the likeness of the people of God’s finished state, the righteousness of Christ. Sin is a direct action to disobey God, and anything contrary to the Holiness of God. God decreed sin, to demonstrate His great Holiness that none could obtain. Adam was made uncorrupted yet having sin. Sin’s power of death was not upon Adam when he was formed as it could not come to life before God gave it power through the commandment forbidding the eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil. There was no doubt Adam would die and this death came from the corruption of sin, which had been given power through the Law of God (Romans 5:13.) By the absolute sovereign decree of God, sin came alive in Adam and lust entered in his heart for the forbidden fruit. Death had not been tasted yet, but it was sure to follow upon the eating of the fruit, because Adam had been corrupted. Adam would be put to death, by God’s predetermined design, by sin’s power, the breaking of God’s law. The law was the expressed revelation of God’s Holiness by which all of mankind will be shown to have fallen short and be sentenced to death for their transgressions. God commanded Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good evil, for in the day that he did they would surely die. Adam and Eve would not know death until they partook in the transgression by actively disobeying God making them eternally a prisoner to sin. God’s righteous judgment would never overlook the sin of man. Eve was from Adam, thus her name was woman. All the acts of Eve are attributed to the corrupted estate of Adam. Eve was called the “mother of the living” as she would be the line of the elect. She could not sin, if she had not come out of a fallen Adam. If she could, then the Word of God would attribute that all are fallen because of Eve. All have fallen in Adam because sin entered into the world of mankind through Adam. Sin was in the world when the world was created, (Romans 5:13), but it had no relationship with man, Adam, because Adam had not been corrupted, but as soon as the law came, corruption came. The commandment was given to Adam, (Genesis 2:16), and then followed the bringing forth of Eve. Eve came out of corrupted Adam because where the Law is, sin is also. Eve was able to disobey God and partake of sin because sin had entered into the world and had corrupted Adam. If Adam was not corrupted, Eve could not have sin. In harmony with a living soul of flesh, sin having dominion brought Eve to eat of death, yet the damage had already been done in Adam as Eve is the express living existence of Adam’s current estate.
We must look at the garden in what it represents. It is the garden of life. Within this domain man would live and be provided for by the sovereign decree of God to His creation to provide. Adam was also given the commandment to keep the garden. The commandment was not to give dominion to sin in the garden of life. Once sin had dominion, it had rule over all creation, even the people of God; however it did not have reign over God for God cast all creation and sin out of the garden.. All fell under the power of sin. Each line now had become one flesh, “sinners”. In Genesis 2:24, Therefore, shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. The perfect picture of a child of God married into one death under the law and sin while the husband liveth, and by God’s grace freed by the husband’s death, and resurrected into one life, under grace through salvation of Jesus Christ. Sin having dominion means it has rule and a ruler who hates God would have no desire for God. This is why it is impossible for man who is ruled by sin to come to God in and of himself. Romans draws the picture of sin living within you and becoming you. Sin had come from being an action to becoming a creature and a principality. That living soul had become a dead soul unable to draw nigh unto God for salvation, only Christ could draw nigh unto God for salvation. A child of God has and always will be a different creature from Adam’s race, although they had become condemned as one through their transgressions. God sent His son for a specific race of people, to bring them out of the darkness into the light, out of death into life. Jesus came to SAVE His people (his protacle people) from their sins. Under the law the children of God were sentenced to death but through the pardon given because of the penalty being redeemed by Christ Jesus, the people of God are made to live. God sent His Son to bring back the lost sheep not only into the likeness of Holiness that in the beginning the sheep once were in but be reborn to be Holy through the cleansing blood of the Lamb. Where the elect came to live or were born out of flesh (physically and soon died) out of one man, Adam, so shall it be that much more to be brought to life, reborn into the spirit out of one, Christ (John 3:5&6). The child of God is now a living flesh which sins and continues with the presence of sin and yet a living spirit which is incapable of sin which manifests holiness, that when the time comes for the corruptible to be made incorruptible the child of God, the elect race will enter into the kingdom of God into everlasting life. |
